Our Committee 2008 Members.

President - Peter Clark.

Peter is a foundation member, two-time club champion and former president who was coaxed into the job this year with offers free counter lunches and booze. He is a very committed surfer with many years experience and enjoys surfing longboards, shortboards and retros. He has strong views on surfers rights and has campaigned a number of issues for the benefit of surfing community especially beach access and protection of existing surf breaks.

Vice President - Jason Belcher.

Jason is one of the hot young crew that the club has developed over recent years. A former club open champion, he was rated number two in the state in 2007 open men’s division and has represented WA at the National titles for several years. In 2006 Jason was a semi-finalist at the Nationals held at Yallingup in large surf. Jason is also a very good shortboard rider and his commitment to the surfing community and the development and promotion of longboarding to younger surfers is appreciated.

Secretary - Ryan Clark.

Ryan is also one of our younger members who have volunteered his time for this important role while juggling other commitments such as his final year at uni, two part time jobs, surfing, cricket and partying. An explosive surfer, he also has a penchant for more tradfitional manouvers and rides modern and old mals, shortboards and retros. Ryan is a former Junior, Open and Old Mal club champion

Treasurer - Gavin Holt.

A veteran of many years, Gavin has been our long-suffering treasurer for years and obviously has masochistic tendencies. Gavin is our financial anchorman who keeps things on the straight and narrow while resisting the more frivolous requests from the less financially knowledgeable amongst us. A fearless goofy footer who really comes into his own when the surf starts pumping, he is always there to lend a helping hand.

Competition Organiser - Brad Belcher.

While our club is essentially a surfing social club, competition is also part of the mix. Competition helps surfers improve and enjoy their surfing more. Our competitions are also social outlet and are structured to allow all surfers no matter what their ability to have an equal chance. Brad is the perfect incumbent who understands the need to balance competition and recreational surfing. Brad has been surfing for decades and was a hot shortboarder back in the 70,s and 80,s. He now devotes all his surfing to longboarding and has a very smooth and eye pleasing style. He has represented WA at national level and is always a consistent performer in pro-ams and state rounds. Brad is an accredited judge and is also a former club open champion.

Social Director - Rohan Tillbrook.

Who better than Rohan. Nobody loves a party more than he does. Rohan has some very interesting and fun events in the pipeline this year. The Social Director is perhaps the most important role on the committee as the incumbent is charged with keeping things interesting for all club members and ensuring they have fun, which is really what the club is all about. And when it comes to fun, Rohan is more than qualified. Rohan emerged from the Triggs Point rat pack as one of the hottest young grommets back in the late seventies and is stilled highly respected amongst the hard core Triggs Point locals. He easily won the 2001 club open title and rips on both long and shortboards. He is also quite an accomplished mover on the dance floor especially with his lawn-mower dance.

The Outgoing Newsletter Editor/Webmaster 2007 - Driz

No doubt about it, this would have to be the hardest working member of the committee. It’s a wonder he’s able to maintain his sanity with the demands placed on his time and the deadlines he is forced to meet. He, on top of his other duties must be the ultimate diplomat when cajoling other members to write a piece for the newsletter and get it to him on time to make a deadline. He must also be a very creative individual sometimes blurring the line between fact and outright exageration but at he same time be entertaining and the sorry excuse we have to fill this pozzy is Driz.
